Eu wants an “Industry Code of Conduct” vs. violence

The European Union’s executive body has given game publishers and vendors two years to adopt a widely accepted code of conduct to better protect kids from violent video games.
Two things: I’m all for protecting kids from violent games, but not for the same reasons as the EU. I don’t think to should be up to sellers to protect children; that’s the parents’ job. This is just shifting pressure away from the proper direction. The home is where the main battle for safe entertainment should be fought, not the store.
Second: why nothing about sex? We want to protect kids from violent games because it gives them wrong ideas about the nature of violence and death. In my opinion, our increasingly sexual games similarly give them wrong ideas about love and sex. What’s the EU doing about that?
