CNN Money covers gaming

CNN Money recently posted a trend story about the opening-up of the gaming market. It asks, “Who’s rewriting the rules of gaming?”
Discussed is the merger news involving giant publishers Electronic Arts and Take Two, and the possible ginat-slayers lurking around the corners: startups and small, energetic companies establishing a new business model. Instead of shelling out $60 for a shrink-wrapped box, new popular games can be played over the internet for free, with incremental power-ups for sale, breadcrumbs-style. Players get to spend as little or as much as they want, rather than forking over a lump sum.
Is this the future or just a fad? Let the gamers decide.
